Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and reliable Laboratory Technician to join our client’s medical laboratory team. The successful candidate will perform accurate and timely diagnostic tests to support effective patient care and clinical decision-making. Key Responsibilities Collect, process, and analyze patient samples (blood, urine, body fluids, etc.) for various laboratory tests. Perform routine and specialized tests in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and histopathology. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments. Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with internal and external quality assurance standards. Accurately record test results, prepare reports, and ensure timely delivery to requesting physicians. Maintain proper documentation and records in line with regulatory requirements. Adhere strictly to laboratory safety protocols, infection control, and biohazard waste management. Support inventory management of reagents, chemicals, and consumables. Collaborate with pathologists, medical officers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in continuous training and professional development programs. Requirements and Qualifications Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology / Science from a recognized institution. Full registration and current practicing license with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). Experience in a hospital or diagnostic center preferred. Sound knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment handling. Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy and integrity. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems and basic computer applications. Ability to work effectively under pressure, including shift duties (weekends and public holidays as required). Commitment to patient confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism.
