- Do I need to provide my own car or pay a deposit? No, Zap Mobility provides fully equipped electric vehicles (EVs) on a shift-based rental model (standard shifts are 8-12 hours). There is no upfront security deposit required to start.
- How do I earn, and what are the working hours? You will work as an independent contractor, driving predominantly on the Bolt platform (earning approximately ₦6,000/hr). You are expected to complete 40-60 hours a week (or 200-240 hours per month) based on your hourly targets.
- Can I eventually own the vehicle? Yes! We run a unique model that rewards hard work. After a 3 to 5-month probation period, drivers with consistent records and earnings qualify for our Rent-to-Own track. It takes approximately 4 years of dedicated driving to own the car fully.
- Who pays for the EV charging, maintenance, and insurance? We do. Zap Mobility manages all fleet maintenance and provides standard daily mileage and battery/charging allowances for your shift. We also cover insurance, though a driver "crash fund" applies in the event of an accident.
- Where do I pick up, drop off, and charge the vehicle? Our main operations and charging hubs are located in Surulere, Oregun, and Ikoyi in Lagos.
- What happens if I miss my daily target? Our targets are highly achievable. If you miss a target, it is reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on the reason, but we work with our drivers to help them succeed.
- Can I drive for other apps like Uber or Zap's own app? For this role, you will be driving exclusively and predominantly on Bolt, or operating offline as directed.
- I only have a few months of professional experience and a temporary license. Can I still apply? Yes! Your valid Temporary Nigerian driver’s licence (along with your LASDRI card) is perfectly acceptable for the initial screening. Since this involves commercial passenger trips, your actual driving skills matter most. You will just need to pass our mandatory practical driving assessment to prove your road safety and competence.
- Complete the online application with your details.
- Submit your required documents (Temporary Licenses accepted).
- Pass the background check and practical driving assessment.
- Start driving and earning!
