Data Engineer

Why you matter:

At Babban Gona, impact at scale is built on clarity. Our mission to lift 50 million families out of poverty depends on timely, accurate data flowing across every part of the business; from the farm to financing and growth decisions. That’s where you come in. As a Data Engineer, you design the systems that make insight possible. By building dependable pipelines and well-structured data, you help teams move faster, plan better, and act with confidence.

You matter because when data is reliable, impact is repeatable, and your work helps ensure our mission is delivered, not just envisioned.

As we scale rapidly across geographies and platforms, the volume, complexity, and importance of our data continue to grow. With that growth comes the need for strong, reliable data foundations that support decision-making, regulatory needs, and operational excellence.

We need a Data Engineer who can design and scale data systems thoughtfully—building pipelines and architectures that turn data into a strategic asset, not a bottleneck.

You will:

• Design and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines across platforms

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across teams

• Support analytics, reporting, and decision-making with trusted datasets

• Partner with product, operations, and leadership to translate data needs into solutions

• Implement data governance, documentation, and best practices to support long-term scale

• Optimize data workflows and performance as data volumes and use cases grow

You’re not just moving data. You’re building confidence in our numbers, enabling smarter decisions, and helping Babban Gona scale with clarity and impact.

Requirements

You’re the kind of person who sees patterns before they become problems. You think in systems, care deeply about quality, and understand that good decisions start with good data. You enjoy building for scale, but never lose sight of the people and impact behind the numbers.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and pipeline development

• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and data models

• A track record of working with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted datasets

• Clear communication skills—able to explain data concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with cloud data platforms or warehouses

• Familiarity with data orchestration, data quality frameworks, or analytics engineering

• Experience working with growing or impact-driven organizations

You’ll thrive if you’re:

• Both thoughtful and hands-on—comfortable designing systems and getting into the details

• Curious, structured, and proactive about improving data reliability

• Collaborative—working closely with analytics, product, and operations teams

• Motivated by purpose and scale, knowing that at Babban Gona, better data directly enables better lives
